Purpose
The Bible Discussion’s main purpose is to foster relationships and sharing, prompted around a discussion of biblical principles. This will, in turn, promote an atmosphere for discipleship. Bible lessons will be based around the basics of Christianity and non-threatening strategies for interacting with non-Christians.Objectives
- Foster friendships; get deeper
- Develop disciples through modeling, teaching, encouraging sharing
- Welcome visitors and non-Christians
- Remain under 8 people, but if reach 10, split the group into two
Lessons will follow this format:
- Introductory question and discussion
- Examination of the Biblical text(s)—inductively and deductively
- Discussion around implications revealed in the text
The 1 hour study (7 PM to 8 PM) will follow this format:
- 15 minutes prayer and introductions (7:00 PM to 7:15)
- 30 minutes for Bible Study and discussion (7:15 to 7:45)
- 15 minutes for closeout prayer (7:45 to 8:00 PM)
